Default Biggest Meltdown/choke job of the past few years?

I'm sure I'm missing a few, but off the top of my head:

Canucks fall from 7th to 3rd last in the Western Conference after Tortorella's meltdown on Jan. 19

Maple Leafs falling from 4th in EC as of March 15 to miss playoffs altogether

Maple Leafs blowing 3 goal lead with 10 mins left in game 7...and then a 2 goal lead with 90 seconds.

Sharks from 3-0 lead against Kings to lose series

Bruins from 3-0 lead against Flyers to lose series

Canucks up 2-0 in stanley cup finals to eventually lose to Bruins.

Red Wings up 2-0 in stanley cup finals to eventually lose to Penguins. No other teams have blown 2-0 cup finals lead since 1971.

President's Trophy (121 pts) Washington Capitals losing to 8 seed Canadiens (88 pts) in 1st round 2010

IMO the Canucks blowing their lead against the Bruins is the most pathetic, as they have not achieved a grain of success since then.

The Sharks blowing the 3-0 series lead is definitely the biggest choke job this season, but I have to think the Vancouver vs. Boston choke job takes the cake for the last 5 years.

The Tortz meltdown was the best birthday present I could ask for.

There's been a lot hasn't there? Great idea for the thread.

For a quick pick I'll have to go with the Leafs loss last year, I think mostly because it just crowns the seemingly endless underperforming and choking that team has done for over 40 years now, and that's hard to do.

Any of those are a good pick though. I'll think about some others you may have missed too.

When the Bruins lost after being up three games to philly, weren't they up three goals in game 7 as well? Has to be them, IMO.

Biggest choke job was probably when Burrows tried to swallow that finger whole.

You have to have a gag reflex to choke, don't you?

The Canucks allowing 7 goals in the third to the Islanders was pretty bad.

Flames-wise, I'd say the blown 5-0 lead in Chicago a few years back was pretty bad.

Yeah, but those stakes were low.

I still think it has to be Boston to Philly or Toronto to Boston as a close second.

Both times the opposite team made it to the finals.

I'd say the Leafs and Canucks' chokes are the biggest ones this season. The SJ one is pretty bad, but that only happened over the span of 4 games. The Leafs and Canucks was a freefall that lasted since the Olympics break. The fall from grace was slow and painful.

All time though has got to be the Bruins' choking in '10 vs the Flyers. To not only be up 3-0 in the series and end up tied 3-3 is pretty bad. But to be actually winning game 7 up 3-0 in the third period...then choke that away? That's something else. At least they redeemed themselves the year after though.

Wrong sport but, I'll always remember that Patriots team that had a perfect record then lost in the Superbowl... Haha.

It has to be the Bruins in 2010. Not only up 3-0 in the series, but then 3-0 in Game 7? At home? That's a pretty major gag job. Of course for the Sharks fans there's the silver lining: Boston lost a series up 3-0, won the Cup the very next year.
