Why? They were one of the best teams in the NHL and he's been far in the playoffs pretty much every year he's been in LA. Highly doubt they'd fire him.

when they were down 3-0 they were talking about it all over the place (tsn, sportsnet, fan 960) Has Daryl has warn out his welcome ect. and thinking he may be fired
just funny a few days later the tone is very different
I think he is one of the better coaches but he also fell ass backwards into a very good team especially goal tending and D

He wasnt going anywhere.... he turned that franchise around in a very short period of time.
Literally comes in half way through a rough season and wins the cup. I have never seen crowds care as much as they do in LA. What he has done i nothing but incredible for that franchise.

That very good team wasn't a very good team when he took over or they sure weren't playing like a good team.

If there was a coach that can complete the 0-3 comeback, it's Sutter

Sutter is in my top five, not sure if he is #1. Joel Quennville would also be at the top of the list.

Fell ass backwards? Dean Lombardi has a ton of respect for Darryl and thought he'd be a good fit. How is that falling ass backwards?

Rofl? Jokes right?
He would have been up for GM, if they lost a few games ago, now he will save the bad GM and take this team right up into Chicago in the West Finals.
Not sure they have the team to get past Chicago, but we will find out soon.
Flames fans forget 04, what happened, but cherish it 10 years after. Sutter just keeps on winning. (lunging punch a la Sutter)!

Babcock took an artillery shell crater into the playoffs this year.
He's still the best.

He's one of the best in the game but he's got a shorter shelf life than some of the greats. His style of coaching is taxing on the players physically and mentally. He's the perfect guy to take a team over the top as he did with the Kings but at the same time he could also walk into Edmonton and whip those self entitled losers up north into a real hockey team.

There were whispers that he could be let go if they lost the series in embarrassing fashion. We will probably never know now but there were whispers in the media for sure his job was tenuous when they were down 3-1.

He's probably one of the all-time greats IMO when you consider what he's done in this era of the NHL and the Olympics. It's amazing how he's managed to keep the Wings competitive post Lidstrom.

One thing we know for sure, the media (everywhere) despises them a Daryl Sutter.

Babcock is a better communicator, team builder, which likely is why he's had as long of a go as he has had. That style = that reward.
I'm not sure if there has ever been a better coach for 5 vs. 5 hockey than D Sutter.

Miss him as a COACH here. He's definately one of the best around. And when he gets let go by LA after the playoff series loss, we will introduce our new AGM- Darryl Sutter. Kidding...

I know coaches seem to have a short shelf life, but this is a ridiculous statement.
2012- Stanley Cup Champs
2013- Western Conference Final
2014- 1st round exit....
You think the guy would deserve one freebie for the prior 2 years of success, no?
