Icon25 WC Playoffs Round 1: Colorado Avalanche vs Minnesota Wild (Wild win 4-3).

Game 1: Minnesota 4 @ Colorado 5 (OT). Avalanche lead the series 1-0.
Game 2: Minnesota 2 @ Colorado 4. Avalanche lead the series 2-0.
Game 3: Colorado 0 @ Minnesota 1 (OT). Avalanche lead the series 2-1.
Game 4: Colorado 1 @ Minnesota 2. Series tied 2-2.
Game 5: Minnesota 3 @ Colorado 4 (OT). Avalanche lead the series 3-2.
Game 6: Colorado 2 @ Minnesota 5. Series tied 3-3.
Game 7: Minnesota 5 @ Colorado 4 (OT). Wild win the series 4-3.

Avalanche in 6. Varlamov has had a great year and the young Avs forwards I think will come through.

Predictions? Thoughts on the series?

I think the Avs in 7. Can't believe the Blues choked to have to play Chicago

Yeah, Av's take this series with relative ease. I say in 5. Their top six is so awesome.

I would easily take any of the other teams in the West over Colorado but this is a bit tougher.

Minnesota goaltending is a concern and if it was backstrom from 2-3 years ago I would say Minny easy. That said even with Colorado's strength up front I am not sold on their defense or goaltending.

Minnesota in 6

Patrick Roy is coach of the year, there is no doubt. Avalanche in 5 or 6, they're rolling and they have one of, if not the hottest goalie in the west right now.

Missing Duchene will hurt the Avs but Roy has them playing so well right now

Bryz has been really strong since getting out of the grease pit.

7-0-3 with the Wild, including three shutouts. A 4-0-1 record against the teams who've combined to win the last 6 Stanley Cups.

I think he'll be the difference maker in this series and give the Wild a chance.

Of course, Varlamov hasn't been a slouch this year either.

Avs in 6 or 7.
