The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Minnesota Wild got together for a quick deal to address the positional needs for their clubs.
The Pens sent Johan Franzen to the Wild in exchange for Jared Cowen, Brett Polluck and 2015 PHX 2nd.
We feel that we were strong enough up front to sacrifice losing the Mule. We are not yet sold on Cowan's upside but feel he will turn into a solid shutdown guy at the minimum. Our D was in rough shape so we had to make a move to address it. Hopefully this adds some more depth in that position for us.
