Poirier and Kanzig to Heat
Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson 38s #Flames have assigned D Keegan Kanzig and RW Emile Poirier to AHL Abbotsford after both were eliminated in major-junior playoffs.

Awesome news.. big blow to the Heat roster losing a few top players to the Flames and then not getting them back due to injuries. Hopefully some of our younger players can help fill the gaps.

Brandon Astle @brandon_astle 28m Ward said last week that he wants the draft picks to play. Expecting Poirier to possibly make his professional debut tomorrow vs. Rampage.
