Default C-train, 6th ave sw disruption Apr 25, 2014

For anyone taking the train home, looks like a silver mercedes got crushed on the front passenger side at 9th street and 6th ave SW. Based on proximity of the car, the c train may have hit the car (sorry, dont have my phone with me so i couldn't take pics)

Police, fire and ambulance are on scene and are stopping traffic going west bound at 8th st and 6th ave

Trains going South bound and North bound are at a full stop.

plan for alternate routes if you're taking the 6th home or the train

It is a good thing it is Friday and hopefully there aren't too many people in the core heading west. Traffic could get really ugly because 4th Ave is closed going west bound past the 9th street bridge and now if 6th Ave is closed at 9th Street there is going to be chaos.

My office is by McDougall School and a quick look out my window shows 4th Ave heavily congested and so is 7th Street. Good thing I walk in and out of the downtown core.

My wife saw it happen, then she called me. What she said was 'some idiot drove into the train, I am going to be late'

I was walking out of the core around 4:45 and the pedestrian bridge under the train bridge between downtown and Kensington was packed. I have never seen so many people using that bridge at one time. It was fun to see and hear all the angry motorists honking and actually yelling out of their cars as they sat in traffic along 4 Ave. What a gong show.
