Off Topic sub forums?

Noticed there are now 5 sub forums when clicking Off Topic. Really odd to click the off topic section and not see a topic start until (at best) halfway down the page due to the sub forums.

Any way to clean this up?

The contest sub section is so inactive, no 2nd page, post form one year ago still on the front page etc, that you could easily remove it. Obviously the Real Estate and Ask an Educator ones are paid.. but man they clutter things up.

Okay.. now there are about 7 and I can't even see the first off topic post without scrolling down. That's ugly business.

It is pretty invasive, especially on smaller screens like tablets.

I do like getting rid of the contests forum, where should the few threads that are active in there go? Entertainment?

I understand the paid one's want to be seen more, but I agree it's really ugly and intrusive

Entertainment seems like the best spot. The contests and games will probably get a lot more attention there too. I have never been in the contest subforum until yesterday I don't think

Nah, no one is saying he shouldn't get paid but it's ugly and intrusive. Change is something one can "Meh get used to", this is something else. Ugly is ugly.

Photon, would they work better just listed among the main forums? Right after Off Topic and before Buy and Sell. That way they'll be on the main location but really aren't getting in the way of things.

I get the idea and it definitely increases exposure for those forums.... but there's too many sub-forums now

Isn't that where they were before? Didn't really work, those forums were dead

Not a fan. The general content on the main Off Topic forum is now WAY below the fold.

I mean, isn't it just off because the sponsored forums aren't in the sponsored forums section anymore? All I see on the main page is what appears to be vacant sponsor forums like they've been deleted.

Whatever, do what you have to do.

Or maybe just keep the sponsored forums as the only sub-forums in OT, and move the topics from the other ones into the main OT board?

I think Id rather the OT forum become a sub-forum with the rest of the sub-forums so you could click into OT and not have all the links at the top.

Came to comment on them. Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the look.
