Default At least 20 injured in high school stabbing

Very sad story from Murrysville Pennsylvania, at least 20 stabbed, 2 are listed as being in critical condition. So far reports are that 19 were students, with one being a security guard.

"No. He was very quiet. He just was kind of doing it," Meixner answered. "And he had this, like, look on his face that he was just crazy and he was just running around just stabbing whoever was in his way."
Can't fix crazy... and I know the kids say "like" for every other word but do they need to include it in the quotes?

Waiting for the NRA to declare this tragedy another failure of school violence due to lack of gun protection.

Not good. I have a bigger fear of being stabbed than being shot. There's just something so brutal, visceral, and personal about it.

Hopefully everyone makes it -- looks like a few critical injuries but everyone expected to survive.

Guns don't kill people, people...no wait.

Uhhh this situation could have been averted with better access to guns in school.

I would much rather this happen than a shooting incident. 24 stabbed, no fatally (yet). If this kid had guns, you're likely seeing 15 dead + injuries.

Yeah, this is a prime example of why the US needs to get rid of guns.

You can't fix crazy. But if you limit their access to guns, they have to resort to other weapons...ones that almost always produce less damage.

Perspective is a funny thing. Your reasoning is exactly why I'm more afraid of getting shot than getting stabbed.

Stabbing is such a personal, visceral way to injure someone.

What the heck is in the water in the US these days??

It's always been there, and it always will. Some people just snap. It sucks, and I wish there was a way to figure out who might be more at risk for doing these kinds of things. He seemed to be a normalish guy from all reports, certainly not a ton of red flags to say that you could see it coming.

I'm all for containing the damage when things like this happen. I'd much rather see 20+ people get stabbed and have some nasty scars but still living than 10+ people getting killed any day. I just wish that America would come to it's senses some time soon and start restricting guns more broadly, so that way it's more rare for someone to be able to have a gun than what it is right now.
