It's always been there, and it always will. Some people just snap. It sucks, and I wish there was a way to figure out who might be more at risk for doing these kinds of things. He seemed to be a normalish guy from all reports, certainly not a ton of red flags to say that you could see it coming.
I'm all for containing the damage when things like this happen. I'd much rather see 20+ people get stabbed and have some nasty scars but still living than 10+ people getting killed any day. I just wish that America would come to it's senses some time soon and start restricting guns more broadly, so that way it's more rare for someone to be able to have a gun than what it is right now.
