Default UV Blocking Window films

Anyone have any experiences with having the UV/heat reflecting window films put up in their homes? I have a south facing bonus room that has 5 windows that are 36"x72" and even with +10 today it was almost unbearable up there.

I'm wondering if having it installed would make a drastic difference or if it wouldn't have much of an impact in that room. Anyone have any insight or experience and if so how much was it?

Well. Modern windows likely block 99% of UV light anyways. Older ones likely UVB rays.

As for films to reflect heat , sorry I can't help you.

Perhaps I should be more specific, it would be the heat window films I would be interested to know about.

I put some film on my patio windows last year. Best $200 I ever spent. More effective than the portable air conditioner that I got the year before.

Kind of a pain I. The ass to install, but worth the effort.

I picked up a do it yourself kit at Costco for around $65 bucks. 4'x20' worth of film plus some tools. I haven't installed it yet though. For the price I figured it couldn't hurt to try.
