Default The Stanley Cup has been stolen

It must be found. The #cupnappers should be punished to the fullest extent of the law!

As far as marketing gimmicks go, this is right up there with the NHL Guardian project.

I can't see the NHL ever reaching the level of stink that is the Guardian Project again.

I want to see where this story is going, I never wanted to see the Guardian Project.

Never underestimate the NHL, Buff! Though in this case, it's really just NBC trying waaaaay too hard. Also, should have launched this tomorrow so that, if it does bomb, they can just call it an April Fools joke and allow people to forget about it by Wednesday!

It would be funny if fans, in a naive fit of outrage, called for the firing of the Stanley cup handler, Phil Pritchard

First the controversial handling of other trophies and now this?

shame...

I play Nish in Be a Pro.

And isn't April Fool's tomorrow? Bit early to jump the gun...then again we had that horrible proposal for a ridiculous looking puck.

It was Canucks fans.

Their team can't earn one, so they decided if they can't have one, no one else can.

While I thought the Gaurdian project blew dead donkey dong, it was a useful tool to get my 4/5 yr old, that was a superhero nut at the time into hockey.

He is now a hockey nut.

I think it was a success.

Did anyone follow what happened after Devan Dark revealed that the leader's true identity was Mike Mason?

NHL really reached the bottom of the barrel with this stolen cup angle.

Reminds me of Atlanta's guardian, The Thrasher.

His special power? Turning into a jet:

The Thrasher is capable of flying at 5 times the speed of sound. To achieve this feat the Thrasher has a titanium canopy that, when deployed surrounds his entire body encasing him in a futuristic looking Jet Plane

I would check rogers arena. If the Canucks are ever going to touch the cup, they are going to have to steal it.

Vancouver is no good.

Some of you need to lighten up.

The Guardians Project was bad, but let's be honest, it was for kids.

This is a novel way to boost interest in the US in the Cup itself, and provides an outlet to educate otherwise oblivious masses about the storied history of the greatest trophy in sports.

Kitsch? Yes. But probably only to those of us who are already steeped in the tradition. For everyone else, this may actually be somewhat effective leading up to the NHL playoffs.
