Down 14-1 as I just turned on the game.
Jones is in....did I miss something?
Its going to be a frustrating game to watch, with the TSN commentators already fawning over the fact that Hamilton has 28,000 people for the first time in over 3 years or something....
The Stamps get that in their sleep over the past 7 years, for the most part.

Your comments are a joke. Look at how much time he is getting and how many drops have his receivers had?
To blame the offensive struggles on Tommy is pathetic.

I dont get all the hype about Jones, he has no power in his toss, he is slower than Danny Mac himself, and he seems to lose his composure occasionally (but I can't fault him for that, since he's a rookie).

That play that just got called happens 10 times a game and doesn't get called, the officiating in this league is disgusting

not blaming them on Jones at all, our Offense has much deeper problems , I'm just saying I don't think Jones has much skill on him

Last night at halftime they had Dunnigan on TSN. He said Jones would be starting, and that he believed Jones was the up and comer that the Stamps needed.
The TSN crew also gave Matt a few books:
General Managing for Dummies
Head Coaching for Dummies
Offensive Co-ordinating for Dummies

The guy threw a 45-50 yard pass to McGarity in the first quarter. What more do you expect?
As far as his speed goes did you see the Roughriders game a couple weeks ago? he doesn't have speed but he can take advantage when the defense leaves space open. Anthony Calvillo does the same thing and I don't see people complaining.

We talk about the offense but the defense is just as screwed up. Who the hell gives up 21 points in a half to the Tiger Cats? Don't give me that crap about being tired if you can't play a freaking half of football without falling apart you don't deserve to play in this league.

How do you figure that? Crandell's problem was that he got down on himself and made ridiculously ill advised throws. Tommy Jones is making throws that aren't being completed because A) he has no time or B) he has all day but his receivers don't get open or they just plain drop the ball.
Big difference.

You wouldn't be saying that if Crandell was in...
Anyways, here's a few game thoughts:
I don't know why none of our recievers can get open. I suspect it's illegal contact by the Ti-Cats. Look at our last series - Lewis has a guy wrap his arms around him 15 yards into the route, knocking him off his route and no penalty.
How didn't the Ti-Cats get a 15-yard facemask off that one punt (the one that we ended up on the 8)? Blantant, but no call.
Our defense needs to learn how to pursuit. At least 5 times in the 1st half did we give them 1st downs because our players over or under pursuited (is that a word?) leaving them with no chance to make a decent tackle.
Our pass rush is pathetic.
Our offensive line is pathetic.
Why doesn't our special teams coach tell McGarity to stop trying to stutter step around their return team? Just run and hope for the best, Wane - it's the only thing that works.

He's making those "ill advised throws" to avoid taking the shots that Jones is taking tonight by standing in there.
In the games I've seen/been at, I don't see the receivers or O-line playing that much better for Jones or Crandell.
How can Crandell not get down on himself when he has average players making him look below average. Give Jones another 3 or 4 games and you'll start to see that self doubt creep in too.

A)That's why Crandell has thrown like 12 picks in 4 games. I'd rather have a 2nd and 14-15 then an opponents first down in our territory.
B)Receivers and the line aren't playing that much better you're right but you would expect them to bust their ass to help out their rookie QB. It's like if the Flames had to go with Brent Krahn as goalie instead of a a shaky veteran (Turek?) would you not expect the team to pick it up for the young guy?
C)Look back at Crandell's time here. He has played with awesome receivers during his entire tenure and he has always had at least an average line. Where has he gotten this team?

Crandell doesn't need others to make him look below average, he does that all by himself.
Jones is not playing much better then him but he is starting his what fifth CFL game and has potential to grow as he learns more.
Crandell has had many seasons of sub-standard play, save what maybe eights games that Crandell defenders/lovers always bring up when people talk about his ineptness. Plus one of the main reasons we one that Grey Cup was the fact the Winnipeg Offense played like crap which you cannot attribute to Crandell, unless they were trying to emulate him.

Whate was Jones thinking on that throw to Wayne, that was righ to the guy. Man Black was right our D better score tonight because unless its a penalty I don't see us moving the ball on offense. Lets see Zula..I'm not giving up on this team but it doesen't seem like theres much left in the tank for us to make any comeback.
o well, GO STAMPS GO!!! ONLY 2 TD'S WITH @ CONVERTED 2 POINTERS!!!!

Did that guy seriously just miss that kick??
How bad is that?
could you imagine if the stamps make a come back and that comes into play. i.e. comes in with short field position and gains confidence with a point scoring drive.

Trade Joe Fleming now.
A. He sucks this year.
B. He'll bring in some decent talent.
0 hits, 0 hurries, 1 tackle? 2 tackles? Not good enough from an "elite" defensive lineman.
Micheal Souza should start next game. Tommy Jones has 4 picks, around 300 yards, and a sub 40% pass completion % in the past two games. I don't see how Souza could do any worse. Plus Souza actually knows how to hand the ball off unlike Jones/Crandell who put it out there like a loaf of bread.
Our linebackers are over-rated. I don't see the running backs shake tackles like that against the Argos and Als.
How do we not get pressure on McManus with a 7 man rush? How many hits do we have - 1? 2?
One of the most pathetic displays of football I've ever witnessed. No one had a good game. I sure hope Ron Rooke smartens up and gets a GM because clearly Matt can't handle both jobs.
