I misworded myself, should have left it the way I first posted it.  When I read that the game will be played for a full sixty minutes, that is where I thought the score was reset.

My reading of the article is that they will play a full 60 minutes, but with CBJ up 1-0. This seems innately unfair. The game was initially halted at the 6:23 mark of the 1st. You are now giving Boston an extra 6:23 of time to mount a comeback. Why not just have the game resume at the 6:23 mark? What's the downside of this?
Also:
What about the other stats? +/- stats? Will the goalie get a goal-against to his record? If Boston wins 2-1, will the goalie get a shut-out?

It's Dallas, not Boston.
Regarding the other notes, I don't think it's terribly unfair. It's makes more sense logistically to play the full 60 minutes. As for +/- ... well, nobody cares about that.

6:23 is good compensensation for one of their players nearly dying I think
