Ortio back in net I'm assuming and no other immediate changes! (still curious as to what happens when Ramo comes back)
Hoping for a ton of energy tonight, won't be able to watch but I hope it isn't a standard PHX snoozer...
4-2 Flames

Going to be there tonight, but since we're on a bit of a winning streak, 2nd half of a back to back, on the road, the law of averages says I'll probably be watching a loss. But I'll still be cheering hard with my jersey on. Surprise me guys.

3-2 Flames in regulation. Glencross, Hanowski and Moneyhands with the winner!

I'll be there too. The flames usually come out flat here though....usually on the second half of a back to back. Hopefully they have some more life tonight and its a good game.

I wish they'd break up that Russell/Butler pairing. But I don't want to see Smid/Butler or Smid/Russell so... I guess it is what it is.
I thought we'd see Hanowski get scratched a lot more than he has, glad to see them use him while he's on his call up.

I'd have the D pairings as follows:
Gio - Brodie
Smid - Russell
Wotherspoon - Butler

Keep it going flames! Love the pride this team plays with... People may say they are playing loose but I'd say they are playing with more desperation than other teams.
Look at Brodie and Smid diving and sliding to break up plays last night. Look at backlund and bouma blocking shots when winning 7-2 in the 3rd period. Look at the overtime last night where the flames played to win and not just to make it to the shootout like the stars seemed to do.
Watch the Canucks and they look like they don't even care anymore... Like the year can't end fast enough for them since most of them want to leave. Watch the oilers and they look depressed, frustrated, and scared out there. Flames are playing a team game and have great character in the dressing room.

Burke said in an interview that his plan was to keep Ortio up when Ramo returned. So id assume MacDonald will just be sent down.

He probably will because he needs something to talk about on after hours. If he doesn't do anything flashy by period 3, expect a dust-up.

Good point. The last year with Brent Sutter here was unbearable to watch. I remember down the stretch in one particular game, the other team came back and scored 2 goals in quick succession and the camera panned to Tanguay on the bench and he was LAUGHING about it. I would rather watch this team of rookies play hard trying to make their way in the league than a group of veterans going through the motions waiting to play their first off season golf game.
Not that I'm blaming Brent Sutter or anything. It's probably a challenge trying to get veterans to play 100% when they know they are out of it. Hartley at least has a group of players who are willing to listen and learn.

I agree with the posts above. Nothing frustrated me more than watching the Flames players not care that they were losing this time of year. Thats what makes this year so exciting watching every player on the ice give it their all.
I remember at the beginning of the year and the Flames were rightfully so getting no respect from anyone in the league from media, fans, and other teams. Then every Flames fan knew this team had to earn the respect of the league, I didn't think it would take this short of time but this team has already gained the respect of the league three quarters into year one of the rebuild, all because of the effort the team displays every game. Which is something every Flames fan can be proud of.

Of course the early game goes to OT on a night when the Flames are on. It's God's cruel joke against Flames fans.
