Top 10 Under 25
Now that Crosby and Ovechkin are 26 and 28 respectively, who are the future NHL superstars?
Some are obvious picks, such as Stamkos or Tavares, some are maybe not so obvious. The choice is yours!

1. Steven Stamkos
2. John Tavares
3. Erik Karlsson
4. Alex Pietrangelo
5. Matt Duchene
6. Tyler Seguin
7. Victor Hedman
8. Ryan Johansen
9. Gabriel Landeskog
10. Nathan Mackinnon

It was a lot tougher than I thought it would be. Expected 10-15 guys to be easy choices and then have to pare it down but after the top 8 I found the next 5 guys to be tough to sort out based on what they had done versus what I thought they would do.
My list is based on a combo of what they have done and potential which puts MacKinnon likely a little higher than he would if just based on what they have done.
1. Stamkos
2. Tavares
3. Pietrangelo
4. Duchene
5. Hall
6. Seguin
7. MacKinnon
8. Landeskog
9. Karlsson
10. Johansen

Imagine if EDM had passed on him and he got to cut his teeth in the Bruins' system.

He is born in 89 so he shouldn't be on anyone's list of players born in 1990 or later.

I agree. Guys like Ekman-Larsson, Hall, Eberle, Seth Jones, Ryan O'Reilly were all good contenders for my 10th spot.

I dont think I would have Karlsson on my list. He puts up points but struggles in a lot of other areas. Big, strong forwards laugh at him playing 25+ mins a game. He would be fodder in the west and wouldnt have taken a regular shift on the Canadian Olympic team......if he made the team at all.

I see two forwards picked just behind Hall and a forward picked behind RNH on that list but neither Oiler lol. Despite Moon's love fest for Hall I am going to have to agree that he doesn't deserve to be on the list due to the fact he's one of the most one dimensional players in the league and has zero leadership qualities.

You're out of your mind. He would absolutely make the Canadian team and was a beast in the Olympics. He carried the Swedes in a couple games. He could very well be a PPG player by the end of his career.

Born in 1989, but he is 24.
How about like Ryan O'Reilly? I'd probably take him over a couple players that have been listed.

Scoring Winger
|
1. Stamkos
2. Tavares
3. Duchene
4. Pietrangelo
5. Doughty (Dec. 89. 2 months older than Stamkos, still 24)
6. Karlsson
7. Seguin
8. Ekman-Larsson
9. Hall
10. MacKinnon/Landeskog/O'Reilly. Excellent talent up front for Colorado right now.

The only reason not to have Hall on the list is because of Oiler hatred bias.
It isn't just my "love affair" with Hall it is Team Canada as well that had him come to their summer evaluation camp.
Seguin and Karlsson are just as one dimensional while adding 0 leadership qualities.
The number of players eligible that have more career points than Hall: Stamkos, Tavares, Eberle, Duchene, Karlsson. The amount of guys who have a higher PPG: Stamkos, Tavares (barely).
People yammer on about how I defend Hall but it is only because of the ridiculous things posted on here about him. There is no way he not one of the top 10 forwards born 1990 or later.
