Default Glencross to return to the lineup, Ramo getting close

Looks like GlenX will be back tomorrow. Westgarth and Wotherspoon too. Granlund could be out long term.

Quote:
“It's going to be good,” said Glencross, who has missed 29 games with a high ankle sprain after losing 15 with a knee injury earlier this season. “I've put in a lot of hours on the ice bag-skating and a lot of hours in the gym. It's not the year I've wanted, injury-wise, I've only played 21 games this year, so I want to take these last games and make the best of them to take strides for next year.”

Westgarth, who has missed five with a concussion suffered March 1st, shared a similar sentiment.

“I think it’s been a pretty good recovery, pretty minor for what it theoretically could’ve been,” Westgarth said. “I was pretty lucky all things considered. Obviously if we’re talking to guys who have gone through other head injuries, the result was pretty normal very soon after so I was pretty lucky that way. I’m looking forward to get back.”

It might not be long before Hudler and Ramo make their way back into the lineup, either.

Hartley called Hudler’s malady is “only a matter of days” and Ramo, who hasn’t played since suffering a lower body injury in the first period of Calgary’s 4-3 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 1st, could be back as soon as next week.

“Karri is skating now,” Hartley reaffirmed. “He’s taking some shots. I’m just going to give you an approximate target -- middle of next week to late next week. It’s a knee injury. If he would be a player, he would be much closer but being a goalie, especially today they’re all butterfly goalies. That puts lots of pressure on his knees.

“He can go down good. Can he go down at NHL speed? He’s not there yet.”

Glencross and Westgarth back in, Abbotsford will be happy. Assuming Granlund is ok.

Good. I am one of the few? That likes what glencross brings for the amount we pay him. That said I am not saying he is untradeable.

I can really do without Glencross.

Showcase yourself Glencross so the new GM can trade you at the draft.

Exactly what I would hope for as well. Get a top 90 pick or two + something depending on what those pieces are exactly and move on. It'll make room next year for Poirier to step into his role and we get another prospect or two for the system.

Given his stance that he wants to play close to home, he will probably waive only to go north. We were scouting the Barons pre deadline so maybe for a prospect in the off season (Pitlick, Musil)?

Wonder what return a healthy Glencross with his lean contract could fetch Burke.
He needs to get back to being Scoreface right away.

Wonder who he has the best chemistry with... I don't really remember.

Pretty sure Ortio goes back down for the playoffs, right? I don't see the point of staying when Ramo comes back, Mac can stay on the bench for good.

I probably missed it somewhere, but what's wrong with Granlund?

He's been out so much this year, I practically forgot that he played anymore.

He started the year with many CP members questioning his work ethic and his desire to be a Flame.

A couple weeks ago he was quoted in the media as saying he can't wait for next year because this one has been bad.

We can only hope that when he returns and/or next year he comes out with something to prove. A player like him working hard to prove his worth is only a good thing for the young guys playing with him.

Shoulder injury from game vs LA. Hit by Stoll, seemed pretty harmless but he left game early. Sounded serious according to Hartley. Not much else explained to this point that I've heard anyway.

I don't have a problem if they trade glencross for a good return, but it shouldn't be for Poirier to have a spot. Let Poirier play in the AHL next year. No need to rush him.

My guess if they did trade glencross at the draft, it would be for a player that can play in the NhL next year, not a pick.

According to the Flames site, Glencross is playing with Galiardi and McGratton. Poor guy.

Playing on a line with the only player on the team with a two game goal streak?

He wasn't exactly earning ice time with talented players when he was playing this year. Plus he'll need to get up to speed.
