It's a funny thing about democracy....
It's looking more and more like secularism in Iraq really did require an iron fisted dictator.

There are lots of things to admire about Islam, they were one of the first religions to recognize woman's sufferage, it was a true scholarly religion.

The whole "Marry girls at age 9" thing is as a result of the prophet himself having married his bride at 6 and consummating said marriage at 9.

Muhammed was also basically a warlord for the last part of his life too. I'm not sure you can call your religion a religion of peace when your prophet himself is spreading the word with the sword.
Christians have done a lot of f'd up horrible things in the name of christianity, there's no doubt, but I don't think Jesus and John were rampaging through Judea.
