Default Twitter Embed?

Seems folks like sureLoss etc. like to quote tweets as do many others. Is this possible to embed tweets via Twitter's embed function?

I checked into it once, and I can't just do a simple embed, I have to have a way to cache the embed so it doesn't hit twitter for every page view.. so I'd have to have extra code on our server to do that. So not with the standard forum software unfortunately.

Possibly a plugin for it? Haven't looked for 2 years and the only ones at the time were buggy as hell (in vb4 at least), but could be something better now

There is one for VB 3.8.x but it's massive, enables tons of embeds, not sure if I want to try it or not.

What about hyperlinks like in this post:

http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpos...36&postcount=4

I don't think people are actually editing each hyperlink in each tweet are they? When I copy a tweet, it just copies the text, not the link. Any easy way to get it like the example posted?

Not sure how they're doing it actually, I would have guessed it was something to do with the advanced post editor that it was translating the links, but I can't re-create it.
