Quite a steep dropoff from Halak or Brodeur.

So much for all the Brodeur and Halak talk.

This has certainly been worth the loss of Smid.

Tim Murray in Buffalo must be pissed. Who else would be in the running for Halak now? Also somewhat validates the Fasth to EDM rumour.

Honestly, I'm giving Mactavish credit for actually getting a draft pick for a goalie no one wanted.

Wow. That's definitely an Edmonton move for you.

Ditch your only good defenseman to open space for Bryzgalov and then dump him for a 4th a couple months later.

I'm not so sure. Halak has been as bi-polar as Bryz, play-wise. And Brodeur is way past his prime working off of his legend.

Whats the deal with Backstrom anyways? He's not healthy enough to play but can be a back up just in case? Weird.

Price must be too high on Halak.. big opportunity for Bryzgalov here to salvage his career.

So is Buffalo stuck with Halak now? Who else needs a goalie?

...Edmonton?

Philly or Washington if they feel like having a go at it, I guess, but that seems unlikely.

I could see Pittsburgh being in on Halak. They need insurance in case Fleury falls off (again) in the playoffs.

Brodeur's only good option is to go to Washington now. Then again, Holtby and Neuvirth aren't that bad, their defense is atrocious.
