Two dead, at least six injured following incident at Edmonton warehouse
http://globalnews.ca/news/1180045/em...west-edmonton/
Quote:
A man who was in the warehouse Friday afternoon says he believed six people have been stabbed.
“He has two knives, you know, it was like in movies, really,” the witness said.
“I think two of them pass [sic] away. He stabbed my supervisor here,” he added, motioning to his neck.
Police have since confirmed that two people have been killed and at least six others injured in the incident.
The witness says he knew the suspect, who he believes had worked at the warehouse for several years. He adds that the suspect was wearing military combat gear, including a vest and a hat, when he came into the warehouse Friday afternoon.
|
I feel sorry for the witnesses that had to watch that unfold.

Looks like this wasn't his first run-in with the law. This was back in 2010:
Quote:
A bizarre north Edmonton neighbour dispute unfolded in court Thursday involving a burning heart in a cul-de-sac, a “combat” bow and the egging of a house and a vehicle.
Jayme Joshua Pasieka, 26, is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, possession of a dangerous weapon and criminal harassment.

Or for gun control? Their saying this was a planned event, imagine how many dead if he had an AR-15.

He was deemed a few years ago by "experts" as "normal" after threatening to kill his neighbour and pretty well everyone around him thinking he was a nut job. Who knew experts could be wrong?

Presser summary:
2 charges of first degree murder will be laid this afternoon, one count of attempted murder, 2 counts of possession of offensive weapons (2 knives), further charges coming pending interviews with other victims... possibly this afternoon. 60 interviews completed yesterday, more to do today. Detectives currently enroute for those interviews. Victim families notified, one died inside and one died in an ambulance after leaving the scene.
Police believe he acted alone. Too early to say motive. Incident lasted only "minutes", 50-70 yard random and sporadic area. Too early to say/speculate if victims were specifically targeted. Initially indication was that body armour was worn, but it was just a military style vest with a lot of pockets. Search warrant for his residence/vehicle currently being obtained. Forensic team still on scene and hopefully be done early evening today.
Suspect has been calm, cooperative, polite.

They will probably deem he was schizophrenic and he will be out in 5 years when he is deemed normal again.

Seems more like sociopathic behaviour than schizo.

Yeah, but it is a mental illness, and we all know anyone with a mental illness cannot be held responsible for anything they do, ever. It would be insensitive to even think that. IMO the people he stabbed should have hugged him and offered him a warm cup a coacoa and some home baked banana bread instead.
Then he would have stopped. The true victim here is Jayme Pasieka.

My dad is a psychiatrist; he just called me and I asked him about this guy. He said, "without seeing him I couldn't say with any level of certainty, but keep in mind that he might just be an idiot..."
Seems like a pretty sound preliminary diagnosis.

Can you ask your dad about his professional opinion of Vincent Li?
Does he think he is fit for release?
Does he think he holds any responsibility for what he has done?
Does he think there is a significant risk he will offend again?
It would be cool to have an unfiltered professional explanation.
