Default Keyboard Help - Wireless keyboard won't turn on.

I have my Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 for about 2 years now and haven't had an issue, until now.

I brought my desktop up north with me to my camp. Nothing is damaged by the looks of it. I have no problems with the computer itself, or the mouse, or anything else I plug into a USB port. I plug the USB transceiver in and the computer registers it, but the keyboard itself isn't working. I've tried putting new batteries in it, but it still didn't do anything. There is no physical way to sync the transceiver and keyboard, nor is there a power button of any sort. No combination of buttons seems to work to turn the keyboard on.

Any ideas?

That appears to be for a tablet/laptop. I have no dealings with Bluetooth or Surface.

This is the item I am having issues with. My computer recognizes the transceiver, but there appears to be no communication between keyboard and transceiver. All my drivers are up to date and everything else appears to be in working order. The keyboard itself just isn't working.

Ok got it working. I don't think I did anything special. I took the batteries out, put them back in, then left it for a few hours. Perchance it just needed time to sync or something?

I suppose it is high time I closed this thread. Not very useful anymore.

Dumb question. Are the batteries in the keyboard fresh?

Yes. I put a fresh set in and it still didn't work. Took them out, put them back in, and waited ~12hrs until it started working again.
