Hearing Kris Versteeg's time with the Oilers is over. Sounds like he's closing in on a deal with the Flames.

Uh. This would surprise me. Clearly does not strike me as a character guy, which the Flames like to talk about a lot. Not really opposed to it though, as an experiment. I think he can still be a useful player, and he has some skill.
edit: The character thing might just be rumours, to be fair... I'm sure the Flames have done their homework on the guy.

He was on a PTO with the Oilers. Sounded like the Oilers wanted him on their roster and were negotiating a deal with him.

When there were discussions around him earlier September the general sentiment was that he's a jerk and too bad defensively to play for us, let's see if that attitude changes
