Due to injury or hes just had enough and decided not to play?

So... we won the offseason trade now? Eating my own words now, wasn't for the trade at first, but would rather have a healthy Jones than an injured Tanguay. Jones also playing better as of late too.

Well, hip surgery is generally not something one does for a hobby, but Tanguay has been known to just decide to stop playing at times. At least this time he had the courtesy to inform his employers first.

Exactly. We got back negative value. Trading Tanguay for a 7th rounder or unachievable future considerations would have been a better trade.

What self entitled attitude? I really don't get this negative obsession about Tanguay from CP, ridiculous.

Doesn't sound like anything different from when he was with the Flames.

I'm not the ethereal, collective opinion of CP.
Good job being contrarian in the face of all evidence though. That must be exhausting.

Easy there big guy.
Tanguay was a skilled guy. But with his talent he should have been a 90-point guy every year but instead was always just a complementary player, the kind of piece that teams are willing to trade.
And that's because he had confidence issues and tended to quit when the going got tough. That isn't CP bashing a player after he left, that's pretty common knowledge. He's had injury trouble too and it's pretty telling when his value got to a point that he had to be traded for another bad contract.
He's probably not even a top six player anymore.

That seems to be a lot of speculation with little facts.. however he never had the talent to put up 90+ points, he's not in the Giroux, Stamkos, Tavares territory of production but still a solid player and still is with 11 points in 14 games on the season.
But I've been down this path before, and I'm not going to get into it again

Up until December in the 2005-2006 season, Tanguay lead the league in point until his injury. Came back from the injury playing on the 3rd line with Ian Laperrire and Brett MacLean, though he did get PP time playing the point on the PP, still put up 78 pts in 71 games that year.

For that season alone you mean? Impressive, but a lot of players have had hot streaks to start a season (Steen this season before his injury) not to mention he got to play with a Hall of famer and 50 goal scorer in Sakic and Hejduk.
