It might be better it you put the amber alert in the thread title.

Everyone at work is talking about it. I think everyone in the city knows and they will find them pretty quick. I assume it is a truck theft gone wrong rather than a kidnapping so the truck will probably be found quickly with the baby inside.

Hopefully that when the thief sees a baby in the back, he'll safely ditch the truck in a place where it will be found quickly. The thought of a baby sitting in a freezing vehicle in the middle of nowhere makes me sick to my stomach.

Did the mother/father leave the infant in the truck unattended?

The information is limited, but that's what is implied by the alert and the media.

Although I can't even imagine how the parents feel, what good can come of leaving a child unattended in a running and unlocked vehicle? Assuming that this was the case, of course.

I hope that doesn't sound too judgmental, but the fear of my kid being stolen along with a car is horrifying and I wouldn't leave him unattended for even a minute. Big city, small town - doesn't matter. It is just too quick and easy for a thief to take a running vehicle.

I'm going to guess that this is a mistake that the parents don't make twice.

Glad the baby was found.

The only time i leave my son unattended, in the vehicle, is when i stop into the pub for a quick pint or two after a long day.

Good thinking, bringing a designated driver.
