This is meant to be a thread for discussion between Stampeder fans...please don't flame or argue.

That being said.....

I have been a Stampeder fan for many years now, and that will never change. But what the heck is going on these days?? Maybe we were spoiled with Fluety, Garcia, Dickinson, and too many more to name..... but I liked being spoiled if thats the case!!!!

I happen to move to Vancouver Island the same year Bouno was "traded" to the lions, and that broke my heart. I don't really understand why that happened as I was not in Calgary when it happened, but nobody can look back and tell me that was a good move on Calgary's part.

Now don't get me wrong, I am by no means a bandwagon hopper. I saw the Flames play in the Corral with the "2 tear" visitors bench, i was at the very first game in the Saddledome when the Oilers beat Calgary, I was at the last game in the Dome before the Flames went to Montreal and won the cup in 89. I Also kept cheering for them whole heartadly since. Between 90, and 2000, I had season tickets 5 times... the years I could afford to. I was the guy most of you laughed at walking down the street cause I had Flames shirt's, hats' jackets, jersey's, and even face tattoo's afew times.

What I am saying I guess is that I will never quit cheering for ANY calgary team no matter how often they win or lose.

BUT WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH THE STAMPS!!!!!!

It's called an owner that thinks he can run a football team better than a guy that turned the Stamps into a contender and a champion 3 times. In the end the owner proved he was wrong and wants to jump as the ship is sinking. Buono has done a great job in B.C. I remember going to football games in B.C Place when Flutie was a Lion. Calgary came to town undefeated in five games. The game went to overtime and the Stamps won with a Pee Wee Smith TD. The attendance was around 40,000 it was amazing. I also went to a game in 1999 and saw a crowd of around 17,000. Times have changed it's good to see Buono turning the view of this franchise around. I miss him in Calgary at the same time I'm happy to see him help make the CFL healthy in markets like Vancouver.

Wally is a great coach/gm. Probably the best along with Matthews.

I was not totally agianst him leaving as he had been here awhile and had just had a losing season. however, I was not expecting such a clown show as it has been.

Really I do not think that Wally would have us as Grey Cup contenders but at least that we would have more stability and had been rebuilding for the past couple of years rather then just losing, losing and losing.

If Calgary had shown any sort of a plan since Wally had left other then getting Kevin a QB starting spot, they may not have missed Wally as much as we do now.

I totally agree, its been such a gong show since Wally left. I think Jim Barker was a decent replacement and there were things he wanted to do and get off the ground but good ol' Faterari and Feterik wouldnt let him. Then I figured there would be trouble when during the off-season Dunnigan pretty much did nothing, he didnt try and keep any players that were showing any promise. The only way I think this team can do anything in a positve way this year is to get Feterik to sell the Stamps. We all know he dosent have interest in it anymore, just sell it to someone else who is willing to put some commitment to this team.

I don't think Dunnigan was the right choice for the Stamps, he just doesn't have enough experience. And calgary teams sure know what can happen with unproven coaches (ala Greg Gilbert) I just don't believe Dunnigan is qualified to handle Coach/ GM duties, and then take on jobs as Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach...he was a much better player.

i was thinking the same thing watching the lions game the other night, you look at BC and they are playing as well as anybody with contributions from former stamps.. Go figure, wally figures you might need a running game to suceed, WHAT A CONCEPT, he goes out and gets former stamp Antonio Warren, he signs the best QB in the league, albeit who has been injured. Then their organization gets a great young QB like Printers.... Meanwhile Calgary trades away a lot of good talent for their QB of the future, romaro Miller, who isnt good enough to be 3rd string... Wally always represented class around the league, now our once proud franchise is being run into the ground by a collection of individuals who dont have the class or football knowledge of Buono..... if Bouno was here the last 2 years, this team would be probably around 5-5 right now, not a contender but there would be light at the end of the tunnel.. i am still a stamps fan, but i will be cheering for BC, as i would prefer them in the west final rather than edm. or sask.
