Toronto couple savagely killed in their own home. Killed in Ajijic, a lakeside community home to thousands of Canadians and American expats.

Gotta think there's thousands of expats in that community that won't be sleeping well for awhile and/or moving back to Canada/America.

Really tragic to hear.

My parents are nearby living in Bucerias for the winter. I was a bit sketched out when I heard this news, but when you think about the number of Gringos down in that area I think it's pretty safe overall.

There is something like 1 million Americans and Canadians living in Mexico so a few murders a year is statisically in line with what we see in Canadian and US cities.
