Can Calgary call their next arena the 'Cow Palace'?

Bummer. Can't say I ever went to a game though. People here didn't know they existed at all, so it's not surprising.

The Oilers should play out their schedule for them.

We knew it existed. But going to a game was driven more for a laugh and to watch a fight. I don't know anyone who went and said they would go again.

Maybe the Oilers should move to the Cow Palace. The ECHL seems to be the right talent level for the team.

I thought about going to a game, but I never did.

what will happen to the players. Will they all get reassigned to a new team or just the ones on professional level contracts??

As per the ECHL website, any players on ECHL contracts immediately become unrestricted free agents.

I'm sure Bouw just made this thread to warm up for the inevitable Coyotes thread he'll have to make.

Okay, guys, we need to work harder on these things. gradin-23 took the easy-pickens Oilers joke, I took the easy-pickens coyotes joke. We have to work together to ensure that only one version of each easy-pickens joke gets posted, or else it gets a little awkward all up in here.

This situation has been festering for a while now...the Bulls owners put a ton of money into updating the Cow Palace, to play AA level hockey in a major league town. Attendance wasn't great last year even with the odd fan going to get their hockey fix during the lockout, and was just over 2000 a game this year.
