I've done this a couple time this year and it was quick and easy. I get my tax receipt the same day I donate the tickets.

Just curious, was the tax receipt for the face value of the tickets? Setting aside the fact that it's a great cause; if people know they are getting a big tax receipt it may not even be worth trying to sell them.

The tax receipt is for the seasons holder ticket price - what you paid for the tickets.
