Yesterday the doc gave me a sad news...I won't have the chance to be back playing this year. This news sadly puts an end to my hockey carreer. Yes, for the first time I will listen to my body. It was a hard decision to make and everyone that knows me well will know that it's with tears that i'm writing this Tweet. I'm really proud of my carrer and all that I accomplished. Proud because I gave all I had with all my heart and honesty until the end. My new life takes place, a new challenge that I can't wait to start and will certainly be easier to achieve with all the people I love.

Good luck to Begin. He was a gamer. The fact that he took a few years off and came back shows balls and work ethic. At least he was able to make a bit more cash before ducking out. Great guy, and great attitude. Kudos.
I though when he signed that minor league contract he was going to be doing some coaching. A guy with the drive that he has, should have some place in the hockey world.
This feels like a good opportunity to ask, how do the NHL pensions work? do they start from the moment a player retires or it's like a regular pension?
Can he get another job and collect a separate pension when he retires and have 2?

That's an interesting thought actually.
While he may not physically be able to play, he's a fitness freak. Being around the team, I can say he was always in the fitness room. I have a feeling he'd make a great trainer for some team, even if it's a QMJHL team to start.
