Fridge lookin like its dead, help/advice on good appliance store with good prices?
So fridge decided it doesnt feel like staying cool anymore. I have someone on monday coming to look at it but i have a feeling compressor is gonzo and thus will probably run close as much to fix as to buy a new one.
Lookin to the cp faithful on advice/past experiences on appliance stores that have good prices and are helpful.
Needing another stainless steel fridge and any suggestions on make/models would help as well.
Thanks to all in advance.

I like Major Appliances in the NE. They have brand new appliances available at discount due to scrapes and dings. They will also gladly take your old fridge, refurbish it, and sell it. Some good deals to be had.

Bowwest is pretty good as well, their Barlow location usually has some stainless steel items, sometimes they have refurbs, dent and dings, and used ones. Also been in Major Appliances, haven't purchased but they seemed good.

Don't go to Trail Appliances. They are slime balls.
Sold me a "flood victim" package of a new water softener with haul away of my old one.
They delivered the new one, then said they changed their minds and didn't want to haul away the old one. Took 2 months for them even to refund me $30 they charged to do the haul away.
Don't take just my word, check out the reviews, they slime ball a lot of people it appears. So I'd say at best go in and get a demo, then order from somewhere else.

I also had issues with the delivery; but from Futureshop. They didn't want to move the old fridge out to the garage. It wasn't until I told them that I was going to refuse delivery that they did it.
I did also make sure the saleperson wrote that on the bill of sale, so I could show it was a condition of the sale.
All that being said, pay for the delivery. I've seen a few people try to bring it into the house themselves; and realize once they are removing doors that they should have just paid for delivery.

We saved some cash at the As-Is section at Coast Appliances. Decent to deal with. Delivery was smooth and the fridge has performed good as new.

Oh yeah forgot about Coast, I got my induction range from them, and they had the as-is section.

I had an odd experience with Trail, bought a dishwasher, arranged delivery on a day that my wife was home, paid full balance up front. So delivery day arrives, my wife lets them in, they remove the old dishwasher, get it out to the truck, open the box to the new one... and it's smashed.
Ok, accidents happen, so I call up the sales guy I dealt with to find out how quickly they can get us a replacement and through some negotiation we end up with the next model up from that dishwasher line. Ok great, let's arrange and new date and get it installed.
So the second install date shows up, the guys bring a new un-smashed dishwasher and what do ya know, I'm in need of a $20 speciality hose that no one mentioned. Yeah ok, whatever, here's a cheque, I just want the damn thing installed... months later the dishwasher is running fine, but I'm not sure they even cashed the cheque I wrote for that hose. Drivers/installers trying to pull a fast one for some lunch money? Who knows.
Yeah anyways, I'm not sure I'd recommend Trail or not, it was just an odd experience.

Just got home from doing that very same thing.
Lowes- had great help from one employee but went back and another one was on shift instead. Absolutely no interest in helping. This is the downside of non-commission salespeople.
Home Depot- much the same. Self serve.
Bowest- didn't have what I needed but was going to try to find something in the next few days. Incredibly knowledgeable. Great prices.
Atlas- not much selection. So-so service.
Coast- Great range of products. Almost bought an as-is in the clearance section but a floor model was on sale at a can't-pass-up price. Bought it. Good service and very knowledgeable.
Earlier this week I bought a stove, dishwasher and microwave on-line though Future Shop. I'm crossing my fingers this ends well.

I've purchased a fridge and dishwasher from Castle Appliances. No issues. Good delivery. No issues with installs, etc.

I have bought a lot of appliances over the last few years from Trail. I shop other places, but find they usually have the best prices. One reason we always give them a look is becasue of a dishwasher we bought there four years ago. LG dishwasher that quit working right after the warranty expired. Paid to have it fixed and it quit working about six months later. Paid to have it fixed again and complained to Trail. They replaced it with a brand new Bosch dishwasher and all I had to pay was the installation. I thought that was service beyond and above, so they will get a good chance on most of my business in the future.
I have also bought two ovens, a fridge and a cooktop from Sears over the last four years. They priced matched and had the model's my wife wanted. No complaints there either.

Purchased all our appliances for our new kitchen reno at HomeDepot. Timed it so that we got all 3 pieces at $200 above cost, total not each. Also got a $200 MasterCard gift card as well due to the models we purchased.
Go see Ed at Tuscany HD.

I got some of my stuff at Lowes. They were clearing out some old stock and picked up a fridge and dryer for half the price.
