Default Costa Rica Declares State of Emergency

Costa Rica Declares State of Emergency As Polar Vortex Sends Temperatures Below 75 Degrees Fahrenheit.

http://elpeji.com/2014/01/10/costa-r...es-fahrenheit/

“We could be facing a national crisis,” Chinchilla said in a national address beneath an umbrella to deflect the frosty dry season sunshine. “If Niagara Falls can freeze, who’s to say that Rio Celeste or La Paz waterfalls isn’t next?”

That's her real name. Thankfully she will be gone in a few months. She's had the lowest approval in the nation's history.

Can we start tagging these horribly unfunny link-bait "humour" articles as satire or something?

I think we need two tags. [Satire] and [Lame].

Are there any really funny satire sites out there? Even the Onion can be hit and miss, but I can't think of any site that does it nearly as well.

"Cracked" and "Funny or Die" have their moments.

I actually read this as "75 degrees below F" for a second before my brain realized how cold that was and where Costa Rica is .

I think this stuff is fun, but I also understand that most of us Flames fans have forgotten how to have fun and only remember how to bitch and complain.

Funny thing is that Cracked can have non satire posts that are on the money

some of them are funny but I mostly get tired of the endless amount of people who pass it around thinking its real stuff (work email, etc.) then I spend the next day or two explaining to everyone in my office that it's a parody site when they want to talk about it.

Yeah, it's overdone on this site as it is, but you run into in other places too. It's just too much.

Plus a lot of the new ones aren't written as well as the classic ones such as The Onion.

Lastly, you can't say 'if you don't like it, don't click on it' cause it's not represented honestly. When I saw the headline I was thinking, 'oh no, what's happened in Costa Rica?'

But that's what I did when I saw the headline as well. I have a HS friend living there who posted it and I was concerned as well. So you're asking me to edit the delivery of their joke. Which nobody should do IMO.

This falls under people who like it and people you don't, however, I have contacted Brian Burke and asked if he would do a press release apology on my behalf and he graciously agreed to do it for all Flames fans.
