Default The ongoing stuff falling off buildings thread

Due to pieces of flashing falling off the BMO building, 3rd street southbound is closed and now the LRT is being shut down as well.

I've also heard rumours the crane at Eighth Avenue Place is not in good condition.

Cranes were swinging around this morning according to a coworker.

Is it just me or is Calgary taking a natural disaster beating the last couple of years? Wind, hail, flooding and extreme snowstorms.

I looked out my 7th-floor window this morning during a particularly windy moment and saw two plastic chairs flying off of balconies from the tower across the street. This was on 12th ave right around rush hour.

The wind was crazy this morning, things were blowing off balconies 20 stories up and I could see cranes swinging. I don't know if that was just a draft that was above ground as it was calm and warm on the streets.

CTrains have just been cleared to resume traffic - should be back running shortly.

It could just be me, but it seems that ever since the second tower at Eighth Avenue Place was built, the corner at 9th and 5th and the little plaza between the two EAP buildings is exceptionally windy.

I wonder if the two buildings and the curved roof of the little connecting building between the two has created some sort of wind tunnel.

There was a moment of clarity through the snow and I could see EAP's crane going back and forth from SAIT.
