I didn't even know he was still playing. Haven't heard that name in a long time.

This early retirement was brought to you by the New York Rangers.

Good for him. Pretty good player at one time but was never the same after his mother died.

Did anyone watch him with the Bruins or Blues?

How'd he look?

he was the Blues 6/7/8 D fighting for ice time with Cole and Russell before Bouw and Leopold arrived at the trade deadline. It didn't look like he had much left

He was completely out of place and was very easily replaced by the young D prospects they had (Krug, Hamilton, etc). The thing with the Bruins is they have enough veteran presence that they could risk having a faster rookie who may make mistakes and learn, than a slower Redden who should know better.

Shame he couldn't re-kindle some of that old chemistry with Chara.

The writing was on the wall ever since the joined the Rangers

I grew up watching Redden when he played for the Brandon Wheat Kings, so I've got a soft spot for him. Was glad to see him get back in the NHL, dissapointed to see how his career kinda petered out afterwards.

As much as I would like to say Sather and the Rangers ruined these/this guys career..it's his own fault.
