LOL. Signed up, and watched the intro lecture. Let's see how a 39 year old High School drop out can do.

I've always wanted to get a basic understanding of how this stuff works.

This gives me shivers just thinking about all the sleepless nights I spent doing Comp Sci courses. 2 C++, 2 SQL, 1 C#, Database design, OO Design...arg I spent a good chunk of my early 20's staying up all night on assignments and drinking afterwards..heavily.

Don't let this discourage anyone, I haven't taken this particular course, but I think the more people understand what coding is about the better. Hopefully it gives you an appreciation that coding is easy, but doing it efficiently and cleanly is an art.

All I know is I thank my stars I am no longer a senior application developer, as I left that high stress low reward area long long ago. I still give props to those who develop and do it well, I know what it takes.

MIT had Python like this a few years ago; it was fun.

Have you guys heard of coursera.org

There are a lot of courses like these on Coursera and they're not limited to computer science courses.
