I'll probably watch the Oilers - SJS game. Oilers are in suck mode again and San Jose is peeved after a 6-3 loss vs the Ducks, looking to bounce back at home.

Come on Islanders! Time to push past the Flames in the standings (plus I'd still like to see you push towards respectability).
Wouldn't mind seeing the Oilers get some points either. The best thing that can happen from a Flames fan perspective is if they make a push the rest of the year, and management is set on the status quo for next season.

Agreed
it's interesting... If I turn on a Flames game, no way do I ever actually want to watch them lose, but if I'm not watching, I'm not opposed to them dropping in the standings. I feel guilty about this. Islanders are up 1-0.

I think cheering for the Flames, but also cheering for the teams around them to get points, is a good realistic compromise considering the situation.
The only time I don't want Edmonton getting points is if they are playing us. That just feels wrong.

Nope. Bad as it may be, my desire to see the Oilers disgraced with another bottom 5 finish is too strong

Watching the third period of the Hawks - Isles game, you can tell what team is the Stanley Cup Champion and what team is the Islanders...
Islanders had a great 2nd though.

Don't get greedy. Give even the village idiot enough top draft picks, and even he might catch a break. Or the village idiot proves to be so idiotic that even Katz realizes the errors of his ways, replacing the idiot with someone else (someone perhaps even competent!), and ruining all our fun.
The Oilers have already hit rock bottom. There's not really any where to go but up. We need to make sure they stay at the bottom, and the best way to do that is to keep the status quo in management.

A whole bunch of ties so far in the first batch of games.
Blackhawks-Islanders in overtime, 2-2.
Late in the third period, Predators-Bruins are 2-2
and it is 3-3 Hurricanes-Capitals.
Early in the third period, Jets-Senators score is also 2-2
In the second period the Blues lead 3-0 over the Kings
and it is 2-0 Wild over the Sabres.
After one period it is 1-1 between the Habs and Stars
The Avalanche have an early 1-0 lead

Okposo with the OT winner for the Isles. For all the hoopla over Ryan not being on Team Murrica there's been surprisingly little over Okposo being left off. He's been lights out this year, really turning the corner. I'm guessing concerns over his skating on the big ice was the issue, I'd have to think on NA ice he'd be on for sure.

Iginla had a nice goal on a great drive to the net, a good pass from Lucic. Iginla is now on pace for 26 goals, but that line is just starting to heat up. I predict a 30 goal season from Iggy.

My goodness you are overly optimistic for those dreaded suckers up north. Katz realizing the error of his ways? Man, good luck breaking that idiot out of his fanboy fantasies.

We're in 3rd last place now as the Islander pass us. But we have two games in hand on them so I think we're going to settle in to the 3/4 position until the end of the year.

Horton scores his first goal as a Blue Jacket, in his first game after a shoulder injury kept him out for the 1st half.

Ference gets caught way out of position, back of the net 1-0 Sharks...moments later, Yakupov tries a spinorama just inside his own blueline, 2-0 Sharks.
Happy times in the Big Perogy.
