Reminds me of a story I heard awhile back about some lady who sued a bar because the bartender didn't take her keys away from her and she drove home drunk and got a DUI. Bartender offered to call a cab too. Can't remember the outcome of the case though.

Take responsibility for your own actions is right. The fact some of this garbage even makes it to court shows how stupid parts of our justice system are...

Dunno, it seems to me she might be trying to deflect blame from the truth (purposely tossing her kid over the side). The easiest way to do that is to sue somebody.

There are two options here:

1) She purposely tossed her child over the edge of the bridge and is trying to cover it up.

or

2) She is very stupid. How much forethought does it take to realize it's not the best idea to hold a child in your arms while walking across a narrow suspension bridge in misty North Vancouver?
