Germany (with Drasital suspended) winning 3-0 over the Czechs halfway through the 3rd.

Plutnar got a 1 game suspension for his hit on the linesman during the Canada game.

If Czechs lose then the Canadian loss to them means nothing in the standings (assuming we beat Slovakia).

After being outscored 24-4 in games against Canada, USA, and Slovakia... the Germans win 3-0 over the Czechs.

Wow what a crazy result. I just watched the end and heard something about the Czech's being in trouble of being relegated down if they don't beat the Slovaks.

I haven't seen the game but I would have to guess that the Germans kept the Czechs in check on faceoff scoring opportunities and didn't allow shots from the point. Either that or the Czechs celebrated way too hard after beating Canada.

Yeah... they are in trouble. They have 2 points, Germany and Slovakia has 3. They need to get some points against Slovakia or they will end up playing Norway (or I suppose Switzerland) for regulation.

Wasn't even invited to their selection camp for some reason.

The Swedes have a lot of 19 year olds from last year on their team.

Hard for a draft eligible player to make their team this year.

They have 3 95 births and 1 96 births up front so not a lot of space for young guys.

I think that could be a good thing for him. He has made a ton of nice plays but seems to try and do a little too much at times or create the perfect play.

The Reinhart-Horvat-McDavid line has been the best line by far in the pre-tourny and first couple games so hopefully Leier can fit in and keep it going.

This hopefully takes some pressure from McDavid and just allows him to play a simpler game doing the things that made him successful.

I would expect he replaces Leier on the PP and gets a couple of shifts a period with the Horvat and Drouin lines as well.

While he played terribly, I don't understand Sutter. Sits McDavid, puts him into the shootout then benches him the next game. Kids mind must be swimming.

The WJHC isn't a place to develop players and if sitting McDavid is best to win this tournament, fine. Just a weird roller coaster for him.

Drouin with an idiotic hit to the head 10 seconds in. Unbelievable

Lose Drouin for 10 minutes and put the Slovaks dangerous power play out there immediately.

Got his hands high, but the Slovak player ducked. Roughing/elbowing at most...shouldn't cause Drouin 12 minutes of playing time.
