Default How many brutal giveaways does Butler need to do..

Before he is held the least bit accountable?

Unbelievable what our management sees in this useless player. Watching other guys get benched for much smaller mistakes while Butler gets a free pass drives me crazy.

The worst is when posters on here point out that he's been playing pretty good and then he goes all Butler within a few shifts of those posts.

I think the Flames management wants to play him and give him minutes so that they can offload him for a late pick. If they can't offload him I don't see him being re-signed in the offseason.

Unfortunately, Mr Butler has taken this ice time and created the most appalling personal giveaway montage known to NHL hockey.

I don't know why Feaster continues to give him opportunities. Dollar value of his contract doesn't matter, he's garbage. Jackman is finally gone and Butler is another prime example of junk players taking up roster spots.

I'd bet Wotherspoon or Sieloff make less mistakes per game than he does.

Feaster traded Regehr for him! until Feaster gets fired expect more Butler. ALL Butler all the time!

He might be the youngest player in the NHL not making more than $3mil/per to have negative trade value.

Pretty much what Bertuzzied said. The Regehr trade guarantees Butler minutes.

God, both the players that came back in that are so bad.

The majority of the people on here thought Feaster got screwed from the get go. It really sucks to be right. and to sell off a 2nd rounder for $3million dollars.

CP could have did a fund raiser and saved that pick! mind effing bottling.

The Regehr trade is irrelevant.

What matters is that, in two years, Butler has not progressed AT ALL.

He is a horrific giveaway machine. It is time to move on.

How is it irrelevant? We were missing a defensive defencmen and idiot sutter put him as our first pairing dman. We would have made the playoffs if the trade hadn't been made.

So the GM is dictating icetime to the coach based on a trade he made and the coach is following those orders? Is that what you actually believe?

Pretty "mickey mouse' but how can anyone explain how Butler is getting so many chances and minutes with his play.

The coach thinks he's the best option for those minutes. Far more plausible

Hey now. Kelly Hrudey gave him the seal of approval. What more needs to be said? The guy is golden!

This GM is the only reason he has an NHL job, it's not out of the realm of possibility. However yes, it is more likely that it is Hartley.

Because it is what it is. Butler was only 24 and should be continuing to develop, which would have made the trade reasonable.

What matters is what Butler is now - which isn't good enough

Sadly I think it's going to take an own goal for him to be stapled to the bench.

Butlerfingers* is proof that for its flaws, +\- is actually sometimes a valid indicator of performance.

*NHL Record holder worst +\- in one game.
