Damn the Hawks are deep.
Win the cup. Trade away Ladd, Buff, Versteeg, Brouwer, Campbell.
Take couple years, develop the next wave of depth.
Win the cup. Trade away Frolik, Bolland. Let Stalberg walk.
Next wave is ready with Saad, Kruger, Shaw, Morin, Pirri. Just crazy development system they have right now.

For a change, this time the Leafs massively outplay & outshoot their opponent (Kings), but lose 3-1.

Martin Jones is not going to deserve to be sent down to the AHL when Quick gets back for LA.
Long contracts for goaltenders is just a bad idea.

Nope the guy knows how to get a team to play strong defensive hockey.
As an NHL head coach when he coached the team for the full season his starting goalies have always been good and his team always had good GA/G.
92/93 Belfour: 0.906 SV% 2.59 GAA (1st in GA/G)
93/94 Belfour: 0.906 SV% 2.67 GAA (5th in GA/G)
94/95 Belfour: 0.906 SV% 2.28 GAA (1st in GA/G)
97/98 Vernon: 0.896 SV% 2.46 GAA (14th in GA/G)
98/99 Vernon: 0.911 SV% 2.27 GAA (5th in GA/G)
99/00 Shields: 0.911 SV% 2.56 GAA (13th in GA/G)
00/01 Nabakov: 0.915 SV% 2.19 GAA (3rd in GA/G)
01/02 Nabakov: 0.918 SV% 2.48 GAA (9th in GA/G)
03/04 Kipper: 0.933 SV% 1.70 GAA (3rd in GA/G)
05/06 Kipper: 0.923 SV% 2.07 GAA (1st in GA/G)
12/13 Quick: 0.902 SV% 2.45 GAA (7th in GA/G)
So his teams have been top 5 in GA/G in 7 of the 11 full seasons that he has coached, and top 10 in 9 of the 11 seasons. That is remarkable. He doesn't get enough credit for how good of a coach he is due to his GM record near the end in Calgary.
Wonder what would have been if he would have stayed head coach in Calgary and would have brought in somebody to help out in the GM role.

Media types tend to dislike the style of hockey that his teams play. When the players listen to him though, the teams can be very successful. Right now the Kings players are believing.
Too bad, he had a pretty good team assembled for the 06-07 season. They needed him as the coach though.

It is ironic that the Leafs out shot the Kings 39-23 and lose but the Kings rookie goalie was amazing in net again. He was rock solid. Jeff Carter gets 2 points, 1 assist and the GWG.

And after that the Bhawks just kept on offensive gas pedal scoring scoring 3 more times in the 2nd period and went on to win 7-2. The Flyers goals were both on the PP but that was the lone bright spot. Ray Emery was in for 6 of the goals on just 18 shots, a bad save percantage of .667 and an excellent shooting percantage for the Bhawks of .333. Sharp and Hossa each had 3 points.

The final OOT game had the Ducks beat the Wild 2-1 in reg time. These Ducks just keep on flying. Cory Perry is a scoring machine, he scores a goal for the 7th straight game and has 21 goals on the season. Getzlaf is also rocking it with his 22nd assist on Perry's goal. Harding plays well in goal in a losing cause stopping 29 shots, Hiller gets the win for Anaheim stopping 23 shots. Heatley was demoted to 4th line duty during the game.

they have last year's leading AHL scorer, Pirri, waiting for another chance at the bigs!
On the game, the Flyers were complete dirtbags...Hartnell crosschecks Toews into the goal after one score, another guy crosschecks Versteeg twice in the back, and once in the head, no call, but, I expect that he will get a call from Shanaban. And I have nothing but contempt for Giroux...I hope that he gives himself whiplash for head snapping when sticks come near him, Bollig's stick clips him in the Flyers logo, and Giroux acts as though he got one in the eye...AND GETS THE CALL! The "if you can't beat them, BEAT THEM" mentality is a loser mentality, and the Flyers have that in spades, and it cost them the late 5 on 3 PP goal, with the double cheap shots.
For the 'Hawks, a staggering start, then they turned it on...goals from Keith, Shaw, Handzus (sweet give and go 2 on 1 shorty with Kruger), Versteeg, Toews, Seabrook, and Sharp .
Raanta gives up a goal losing his stick once a game, it seems, but the guy battles, and only gave up 2 again.
