Carzilla is the best place to go to for good car cleaning products.

Carzilla is great, as mentioned.

I use Optimum No Rinse car wash soap. For interior dash and other trim I just use water to clean it. Afterwards, I use Aerospace 303 Automotive Protectant. For leather cleaning and conditioning I use the Lexol products.

I can't recommend any wax products but I have read that the Mother's spray waxes are good.

If you have time you can dig around on the Autogeek forum and read about all the different products.

for washing i use meguiar's gold class car wash

for waxing i use mother's 3 step system. it takes a while since you're pretty much 'waxing' your entire vehicle 3 times, but it looks great afterwards

for chrome i use mother's chrome polish - works great. i've also used turtle wax chrome polish and had great results

you might also want to look at a scratch remover. i used some for the first time with the truck i bought in june and it actually works! ...well, for light scratching in the clear coat. if you're down to bare metal you are hooped.

as calgarygeologist mentioned - interior just use a damp cloth with warm water. i'm not a fan of armour all stuff. it tends to leave a greasey film that just collects more dust

and from environment canada....

As a reminder, the bylaw guys may come visit you if you are using soaps and what not and letting them drain to the street.

Never use dishwashing soap on a vehicle as it really dulls the paint and is hard on enviroment.

That is why the Aerospace 303 stuff is awesome. It is not greasy or shiny when it is applied. It goes on with a low lustre but provides a deep black colour (on black interiors at least.) Because it isn't greasy it doesn't attract or collect dust like the Armour All stuff does. It also doesn't wreck dashboards like Armour All does. I have heard that Armour All dries out the dash and causes it to crack.

With the Optimum No Rinse I actually wash my cars in the garage. It doesn't make too much mess on the floor and it doesn't require rinsing off with a hose so I wouldn't expect any of my neighbours to call me in for washing my car at home.

Dishwashing soap will remove any wax you have on your vehicle.

If your looking for something to really bring back old or faded plastics, or protect new plastics, I would recommend Maxima high gloss SC1. Silicone based, comes in a aerosol can and blows mothers or armor all out of the water. Should be able to find it at any powersports store.

Should be able to do a rinseless wash and a spray on wax if all you want is a quick clean and shine. I like the Blackfire product line but that is on the expensive side, I think.

I used to use Mothers products but have switched to others I found at Carzilla. I am getting better results with the products and advice I picked up there.

I am currently polishing my car and am taking these steps.

Wash Car at touchless carwash. Use Mothers Pre Wax Cleaner. Claybar the vehicle. Polish the vehicle with Menzerna Polish. Use Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. Wax with Poorboy's World Natty's Paste Wax.

I'm very impresses with the results.
