Well they had to go down eventually, they can't just sit but I was impressed with Sven and hopefully that means good things to come.

This is sad, but even more so after Sven had a decent game against the Jets.

I don't see anything 'sad' personally, about Baertschi getting called up, playing a game, playing well, and getting sent back to keep playing.

It's all good.

I can't say for sure, but possibly this competition to crack the line up is working? Raymond, Bollig, Byron, amongst others have really turned it up the last few games.

Agreed, it was good to see him jump into the lineup and perform well. The roster is pretty full of capable forwards right now so Sven goes down and hopefully continues his development down in Addy.

These two joining the baby Flames should provide some needed offensive spark as well.

Glencross and Wolf should be back, even then, tough for those two to crack the line-up when the mojo is flowing as freely as it is.

I think Sven seemed almost "snarky" and had an extra spring in his step when he was up. I think good things are happening. His emotions are clearing up I think. Excited to see him play again some time soon.

How is it sad, how is it anything but positive that Sven played well, seems to be progressing yet that still wasn't enough to stick? Seems like nothing but a good sign for Sven and a great sign for the Flames, and isn't that what we want, or do we just want Sven to make the NHL?

Hopefully Sven/Granlund/Poirier/Wotherspoon/Ortio/Arnold/Shore/Reinhart/Culkin et al go out and win a Calder Cup. No better way to show you're done with a level, than to win at your current level.

Personally I would prefer Baertschi over Byron. Byron works hard and skates fast but little else. as much as people like to point out lack of offensive stats Baertschi is still far more talented.

I dread the day Baertschi is traded because he will become a player.

Personally, I prefer Baertschi to play more than ~13 minutes a game with Stajan and Bollig and toiling away in his own zone for most of it. Byron works hard and skates fast and is effective in his bottom 6 energy role. That's not a role for Baertschi to replace.

Agreed. Byron has been causing hell in the neutral zone and forecheck lately, that's not really the kind of game that Sven plays.

If this is the lineup Hartley is going with down the stretch I'd rather see Setoguchi and McGrattan promoted to the press box for the stretch run. Let all the kids play wherever there is room.
