Default Deerfoot Trail NB Closed at Beddington

Multiple incidents being cited. One is a pedestrian that was hit, another says a Tanker Truck rolled in the SB Lanes, and @calgarypolice are asking people to avoid the area

The northbound one past Airport trail is a fatality, apparently someone spun out in their truck. Went outside of it to inspect the damage and was hit by another vehicle.

Stay safe out there everyone.

This part was closed southbound yesterday as a semi jackknifed and blocked all the lanes.

As some commentator (under the name "Motorist") posted on CTV's website in regards to another story, warnings and tweets do not prevent accidents. Salting, indentifying dangerous intersections, and taking preventive snow removal measures (other than "Chinook" plan) will do more.

So in other words, don't warn anyone about anything remotely dangerous. Blame the government. Good plan.

I didn't read "Motorist's" comment that way at all.

You're right. If downtown was on fire, don't let anyone know. Let them come anyways and hopefully the government has used fire-######ant materials on everything. I'm sure chaos won't ensue.

seems somewhat ironic to send out tweets about road conditions when drivers are not suposed to receive tweets while driving........

talk about bad luck for the driver (pedestrian) of that vehicle......

Huh? I'm not driving right now and appreciate these tweets. I take the 301 home but if I got a ride or drove home, I would love to know if any roads are closed to make my commute home much easier.

Some people just need to whine.

"The city isn't doing enough to clear the snow and ice".

Yet when there is a parking ban because of the snow it was "Why didn't they let me know there was a parking ban".

I wonder where the citys snow storage space is located
