Default December 5, 2013 10 games tonight.

I didn't see an OOT thread yet.

There are actually a lot of games tonight, 10 games in total.

Pittsburgh scored 4 times in the second, and the likely Calder winner Tomas Hertl scored late for San Jose. 4-1 Penguins, Sidney Crosby has three assists, no points for Malkin yet. Seems like those two like to rotate nights on/off.

Leafs up 1-0 on Dallas, Kadri has his 8th.

Rangers up 1-0 on the lowly Sabres, Rick Nash with his 5th.

Boston leads the stupid Habs 1-0 with Colin Campbells son getting his 2nd of the year.

TBay up 1-0 on Ottawa. The ageless wonder Martin St. Louis has his 11th of the year.

Florida leads the Jets 2-1

St. Louis up 1-0 on the Isles, Jay-Bouw with his 2nd which matches his career total as a Flame I believe.

Carolina up 1-0 on Nashville.

Minnesota up 1 against the Hawks, super pest Matt Cooke with his 5th.

And the Oilers are waiting like lambs to the slaughterhouse as they take on the Colorado Avalanche.

The Oilers have sent Grebeshkov and Belov down to OKC and Petry will be a healthy scratch tonight. Half of their defencemen are going to be different from their lineup on Tuesday night.

Bruins Defenceman Johnny Boychuk (former Hitmen player) was taken off the ice on a stretcher after a hit by Max Pacioretty.

On his way to hospital but Bruins report he is moving all extremities.

One description of it:

Quote:
Boychuk had chased the puck into the Canadiens end of the rink. The hit into the end boards to the right of goalie Carey Price did not look particularly hard, but Boychuk's head struck the top of the boards and he fell to the ice.

He was on his knees breathing heavily for several minutes before trainers got him onto his back and onto the stretcher.

Jeezuz. Bernier has had at least five point blank saves, and I've only watched a bit of the third. He's already faced 39 shots and there's still 9 minutes left. It's ridiculous

There are a few games on the OOT that could be classified as the game of the night.

in french across Canada

A classic Original Six rivalry and forever rivals

at

The Habs have scored two goals in the second period
and it is 2-1 after two periods.

in the USA

at

After two periods it is 2-1 Wild in this big divisional game.

The first final score of the night.

The Penguins surprisingly dominated this game in the second period.
It was scoreless after one period and then the Penguins offense went
to work scoring four goals within the first ten minutes of the second
period the final was 5-1 Penguins.

Oilers totally dominated in the early minutes of the game, several point blank shots from the slot as the Oilers ECHL defence stands around and watches... puck bounces out to a cherry picking Hall who goes in on the breakaway to make it 1 zip Coilers.

PP coming up for the Avs.

I don't really get what the issue is with them ... essentially the same team as last year when they were a playoff team. They didn't re-sign Boyes, they traded for Clutterbuck and flipped Vanek for Moulson, but other than that, it's the same team - so if anything, they should be better than last year, not significantly worse. Tavares is elite, Okposo and Nielsen are playing their best hockey, MacDonald is also good ... they should be a lot better than they are. Maybe it's Capuano, never been a fan of him.

I haven't seen the play, but how is "head butting" only 2 minutes? Sounds at least like a major to me, purely from the description.

The Islanders problem is that they didn't tank. Outside of Tavares (who is working out great for them) they have had too many picks outside of the top 3. Okoposo at 7, Strome at 5, Bailey at 9, Neiderreiter at 5.

It is those years where they were bad but not low enough to get the top end talent that have left them with meh or bust guys and little play-off games to show for it.

And somehow Toronto wins. They do it tone and again. Outshot 50-25, outchanced probably 5-1, and all three stars are Toronto maple Leafs. Hahaha
