Default Former War Amps CEO Dead

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/cliff-...t-94-1.2447146

Quote:
Cliff Chadderton, who served as chief executive officer of The War Amps until 2009, has died. He was 94.
The War Amps announced Chadderton's death in a statement and said he was recognized both nationally and internationally as an influential developer of innovative programs and services for war, civilian and child amputees, and as founder of The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program.
Quote:
Chadderton was a D-Day veteran and lost part of his right leg in October 1944 while in command of a company of The Royal Winnipeg Rifles, battling for the Scheldt Estuary in Belgium and Holland.
He was actually wounded twice I believe.

Not to take anything away from Paul Walkers passing but someone like this is just as deserving of the public mourning yet won't see 1/10th of the acknowledgement.
RIP to both.
As Killer carlson said, someone who changes the lives of so many for the better are true hero's.

A pretty amazing story and an equally amazing person. These are the type of people that should be missed when they move on.

Saw this on the news yesterday. They did a little feature on him - learned some interesting facts about the guy. He was a good guy. He did a lot of good for a lot of people.

he was pretty crusty. he managed to get the province of Alberta to "grandfather" WAR AMPS access to private information (vehicle registration) to maintain the WAR AMPS key tag program at a time when such information was recognized to be a matter of privacy concerns.

He may have been a shaky mover due to his prosthetic leg.... but he certainly was a "mover and a shaker" when it came to the WAR AMPS kids.
