powering a lamp outdoors with no plug in
I'd like to do a photo shoot for a lamp I built and I'd like to do it outdoors. The location is far from a plug in, even for an extension cord. I do not have a generator nor do I really want to lug one around.
Simple regular 120V plug in.
What are my options?

Or just don't power it, and then use Photoshop to make it look turned on. Fake it till you make it

The only warning I would give; when using an inverter make sure you get one that is rated for 2.5 times the power you need. So if the lamp has a 60 watt bulb, get at least 150 watts of inverter power. Most inverters are sold based on peak power; and are rated for 50% of that peak power for constant use. The remaining bit is what I use for a margin of error.

It is a lamp, so technically unless you're putting some CFL bulb in it, you could power an incandescent bulb from a DC source like a a couple of batteries in series, instead of a 120V AC source.

I thought of trying something like that. It is just a led strip light with a transformer on it.
