The "hit from behind" aspect of it was pretty much nothing, then the guy went at him and Kadri slashed him. The only real bad part was the slash, but even that you'll see every now and then with little fanfare. Then the fight wasn't that much of a beatdown, just a couple shots and he fell back.
Don't get me wrong, it was something and Kadri was being a bit of punk, and I won't be that guy says something doesn't deserve a thread, but I think the title and the fact you created a thread is making this out to be worse than it was.

I was mainly referring to the fact that Kadri always runs his mouth and finally someone responded to his garbage as I mentioned earlier. He did hit him from behind, he then slashed him and in my opinion he got his ass beat down. Thanks for your opinion though.

Kadri is one of the poster boys for why there should be fighting in hockey. Because he's a "skilled' and "star" player he thinks he can go around running guys and nothing will happen. Weasels like him would be even more prevalent if they knew there'd be a suspension or ejection for a fight. Glad he got tuned up.

I know I will be one of few but I would gladly take Kadri on the flames. I think he has a ton of upside and like his on edge attitude.
As for the play, nothing really happened that doesnt happen every game. Props to Kadri for actually dropping them and not turtling.

I don't think he had a choice on that one. Kadri had to defend himself there. He is a sissy and had no chance to win that fight. He received a good blow that is for sure and deserves what he got, it still wasn't enough, I wish it was a few more blows.

No thanks. Kadri is a pansy that thinks he is far greater than he really is.

Calvert comes off as a prick here also. He shoved Kadri first then threw punches before Kadri had his gloves off...
Umm I'm sure if I tried to hit you from behind you would "shove" me. If you then 2 handed me your damn right I'd drop my gloves and come straight for you. Kadri hesitated and didn't have his gloves off right away because he was shocked that someone had the balls to come after him which is stupid considering he just slashed Calvert. He should have been ready for what was coming

I was suspecting some suspend-able dirty play given the thread title and nature of the posts.
Kadri wasn't going to throw down his gloves though.
If you slash someone like that and do the stare down it should take less than half a second to have your gloves off, he was probably surprised that Clarkson didn't get in between them sooner...

Sounds like a play that happens in hockey all the time doesn't it? They probably both should get 7 minutes in penalties and the game goes on
Didn't see any blatant attempt to injure by either guy and nothing the league should look further at

I never mentioned or said anything about suspensions so yeah... And regarding your other point I agree it happens in hockey all the time it was just nice to see a player who runs his mouth finally get what was coming
Nudge from behind wasn't that bad (Calvert didn't even go down or into the boards) at all. The slash is what it is, not good, but nothing to get worked up about or cry foul over. I understand Kadri is a weasel who'll resort to dirty tactics at times, but this was nothing for the OP to get their panties in a bunch over. It's nowhere even close to as bad as the incident where he ran over Backstrom in the Leafs vs Wild game.
No idea why the OP made such a huge deal about this event.
