I Got Myself A New Goalie Mask....

as the thread title states - i went and picked up a new mask
it started pretty plain-jane. just your standard bauer goalie mask....

so off to the painter's it went a few weeks ago. i showed my painter some masks that i really liked and what i was going after and he hit a home run. i changed the cage to a cat's eye cage since that's what i'm used to. onto the pics.....

yup - that's "SHOWSTOP" on the chin. i got that nickmane from Regehr!! and there is also a bobafett logo on the chin. i love starwars and bobafett is by far my favorite character, but this is on my mask more for a friend of mine who passed away last august. he was a bobafett nut and every time i see the logo it reminds me of him - miss you kevin!

the back plate has my daughter's name on the left and the 2 years that my team has won our division. i might have left a little room under 2012-2013 for a reason! here's to hoping!! ha! ha!

Not bad...not a huge fan of how he did the skulls, but you're the one that has to be happy with it, not me. I haven't had a new mask painted in years.

Pro 940 mask or 960... If its a 940, where can I get the same kind of cat eyes like yours?
Also I do up my own masks... Still a noob at it but its something I'd like to do as a hobby if I get good enough. Currently using posca markers instead of the airbrushing technique.

it's a NME 7 i found the cat eye cage on ebay.com since you can no longer get the cat eye in canada. it was around $90 for the cage/shipping/exchange rate

^^ You seriously can't make that out? He also explains it in his post.
Anyway it's pretty crazy you have 2 custom masks for what I believe from reading your previous posts is a men's rec league?

Is this correct? That is some serious ass dedication. Also looks like you guys have alternate sweaters??

I didn't know custom masks were that cheap, like fotze I thought they were around that 2K range.

our uni's are very affordable... it helps that that is what i do for work!! a perk of owing an embroidery company... we have the best jerseys in the entire league (not just our division!)

yup... it says showstop. that nickname is compliments of Regehr (obviously he never saw me play!!! ha! ha! ha!)

yea - 2 masks for men's rec league hockey! my first one is really banged up so i figured it was time for a new one. i'll still use my old one for other stuff, but the new mask will be exclusively colts games. right now we have white and black jerseys, although we are toying with dropping the whites and getting red.... but for now we're sticking with the blacks and whites. the main reason i'd like to replace the whites is that some of the guys never wash their jersey, and now it's more yellow than white - gross!

when i got my first mask done i was surprised at how affordable it was. the only down side is that becuz the guy that painted it isn't a licensed mask painter (or what ever they are called) it voids any warranty on the mask. i'm not too concerned. my first mask has served me very well for over 5 years with out any issues

oh.... and the new mask is 1-0. colts with a big win tonight!!!

I like how you referenced your old mask, and the smaller, subtle skulls on the left side are real nice.
Hope you have a prominent place in the rec room for your old mask now.
