Holland was an interesting prospect, highly ranked in his draft year but questions on consistency saw him fall. Blacker wasn't going to get a chance in TO but should see a cup of coffee minimum in Anaheim.
Holland is a fairly good prospect and Blacker is just okay. Strange that the Ducks would ditch him in this manner.
Apparently Holland is waiver eligible next year and the Ducks didn't foresee him cracking their line up. Decided to cash out and get whatever assets they could.

I wondered at the time of the draft that between Kassian, Holland, and Caron, who would become the better powerforward? I thought Holland was the more skilled player but there were huge questions about his drive and compete level.
This is a decent deal for the Ducks if they get a 2nd round back, but I still think Holland can be an NHL player and you don't want to give up on powerforwards too early.

Wouldn't categorize Holland as a power forward. He's got some size but not a physical presence... more of a Colborne type (who he is essentially replacing for the Leafs)

He was labeled a potential power forward at the time of the draft, something Colborne wasn't labeled as.
Its a good fight. But more and more I am hating watching guys duke it out like this. What other sport allows bare-knuckle fighting like this? Lacrosse?? Get it out.
