I really don't care if we lose right now, the team is what the team is. However, for me to continue caring they better not fold against Edmonton or Vancouver.
Only team I truly hate is Vancouver, but I still don't want to see my dear Flames fold against the coilers.

I think if the Flames lose tomorrow against the oilers (and I think they actually will), they might just go into sell mode early.
At this point, I hate almost every other team but I like hockey and the Flames suck. I'm not going to get too emotionally vested in the games this year, just try and enjoy the game for what it is, it'll make the rebuild a lot easier.

There's no way in hell we're making the playoffs this year in this division. Therefor losing isn't bad I'd rather finish dead last and have a higher chance at the first pick then the 14th pick

It's not working in Edmonton, so why do you want to see it happen here? Almost making the playoffs with a young core would be a much different story than the past few Flames seasons.

Let's encourage the Flames to lose, just for a few years though. Then we'll magically toggle the "loser" button and things will be fine. We'll tear up the league with our slate of high draft picks. What could go wrong?

Sure almost making the palyoffs would be a much different story but so would winning the cup or winning every game from here on out. He's being realistic. The Flames aren't clsoe to a playoff team, if you look at the teams in the west it's going to be hard for good teams to make the playoffs and we're not a good team.
At this point, the team has to find solace in how they play the game because the losses will pile up and wins will be few and far between. This team wont' make the playoffs and it won't be close. They have a better chance at getting the first overall pick than making the playoffs so that's why some of us have that attitude. At this point, I don't care if they lose but I don't really care if they win either. I want to see the young guys step up and play well but more importantly learn. It's a rebuild, take pride in the little things because that's really all we have this year.

I will never understand how a flames fan can not hate Edmonton. Times have changed man. disgusting.
I don't know. It's like saying you hate the kid in your neighbourhood with Down's Syndrome.
I hope they flounder around like this for the next 50 years, but I don't think I'd say I hate them anymore. The fans however, I'll always hate their fans.

Can I give this more than 1 thanks?
The loser button is actually an intangible feeling that becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. If you never win, you can't expect to win. If you don't expect to win, you won't.
I really think that's why Edmonton has such hot/cold extremes. They aren't the most well built team, but worse built teams than that have avoided record goalless droughts at home.
You have to at least hate losing, and learn that you can hang with the best of them. If they're in every game, even if the result doesn't come out right, you can keep that belief that you're close.

I agree. I don't want the Flames to lose but I won't be mad if they do or not, and fortunately what some fans want doesn't control what really happens. I do think it's beneficial that they lose right now but I don't want them to just mail it in like some teams have. If they are getting better and better but stil lossing, I'm fine with that. Being a team that almost makes the playoffs every year is worse than being a building team that does bad but gradually gets better. The whole "almost in" or "anything can happen" mentalities are the ones that set this team back a few years.
Again, I don't want them to lose but I think they will and I'm fine with that. They will get better as long as they're not trying to lose and they don't get used to it.

I hate the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Saskatchewan Roughriders with an obsessive passion that burns as intensely as a thousand suns. Keeps me warm at night.
