Ray the Razor D-bag Emery

This is being talked about in the OOT thread but thought it deserved its own thread.

Ray Emery tonight acts like a total gutless coward and attacks an unwilling combatant in Holtby. Not only does he come all the way across the ice and attack an unwilling Holtby he continually punches him in the back of the head while the ref just sits and watches. Punches in the back of the head can kill you instantly. this Dbag Emery clearly has a few loose screws and shouldn't be in the NHL.

The ref should be fined and/or suspended for letting that crap happen. Sees him unwilling to fight and then sees Holtby take several shots to the back of the head and sits and watches and also doesn't let another Cap player break it up.

Thankfully we have fighting to protect players from d-bag players like Emery fighting like a d-bag.

Steve Downie taken to the hospital in an ambulance with a possible concussion and a goalie almost gets his head caved in by a mentally unstable goalie.

I love me a good line brawl and goalie fight. Should Emery have jumped Holtby like that, no, but Holtby was a bit of a dumb ass by not readying himself a bit more. Emery has a reputation for this kinda thing, so if I see him coming at me, I'd prepare myself a bit more.

I personally think most of the blame should go on the ref for not jumping in. He see's Holtby is defenseless and getting pounded, he should have been right in there.

I've always believed that the beginning of the little rise the Flames had around the Iginla Reggie period began just before Sutter and Kipper...

It's started with the Ducks Brawl to end all brawls

Automatic suspension be damned, I'd run off the bench to protect Holtby in that situation.

Hope Shanahan comes down hard on Emery. Apparently Emery even admitted in the post game interview Holtby didn't want to fight. Not much more is needed for a long suspension than that.

It's great when two goalies want to go, but the way Emery just jumped and dragged Holtby into fighting was kind of lame.

Brawl happened in 2001, Sutter took over as coach in 2002.... I don't know what you definition to just before is but thats as close as you get

I think Shanahan has to in order to get a message across. Plus he's a previous offender and has had issues with lashing out at people going back to his AHL days. This isn't a seemingly "one-off" goalie snap that you could defend as being out of character.
