Liked what I saw from Billins more than what I am seeing from SOB or Smith.

Billins still has some work to do but looked fine. And this seems like it would have happened once this trade was made.
He should be back again this season in the NHL after this stint.

Hopefully if we move anyone of our defensmen in a trade, he's the first one back. I liked him.

Defensively, not great, but adds some offense from the back end. He could still end up being a Kris Russell type player, but I can't imagine them both being on the same starting 6 at the same time going forward. Just too small.

Yeah. Nice to have as a depth player / option anyway.

well since they're the same kidn of player and Russell probably has more value, doesn't Billins make Russell redundant? If they are the same kind of player, and we have 2 of them, then maybe one can be traded if another team really needs a bottom pairing puck mover.

Why wouldn't we want the better one?

Well I'm not saying trade the better one, just trade one of them.

They are the same type of player but Russell is significantly better than Billins.
Billins is a nice call up to have and a nice player to have on the Heat.

Huh? The main point of your post was " well since they're the same kidn of player and Russell probably has more value, doesn't Billins make Russell redundant?"
You pretty clearly suggested Russell should go because Billins makes him redundant.

Hopefully Billins & Russell make Butler redundant.
The way Feaster & Weisbrod stocked-up on these small, left-shooting puck-moving defencemen makes me think it's part of some Moneyball-inspired scheme to capitalise on that type of player.
Step 1: acquire all the Russell/Cundari/Billins type defenders.
Step 2: ...
Step 3: Win Stanley Cup.

That's the basis of any/all of his posts. He only wants anyone to well so we can trade them (unless they're under 22 yrs old).

Wow, hate on for me I guess.
I guess I didn' say what I meant. sorry. If we have two players who play the same sort of game (and aren't really game changers) then having 2 on the eam is pointless. Trade one of them, I don't care who, it would depend on the return.
We aren't going to ice a team with both Billins and Russell so if we can get something of value for this team, then a trade makes sense.

Yes, that point is fair, but it's not what you said. I guess if you didn't say what you meant than it's all good. The confusing part is that someone said Russell (the better of the two) made Billins redundant, to which you directly countered with saying it was Billins who made Russell redundant.
When you combine that with your desire to ship out every player who isn't a complete rookie (bit of an exaggeration, I know), you can see why you got the reaction you got.
